Four Youth Leadership Brentwood graduates were awarded college scholarships at the Brentwood Cool Springs Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Thursday, May 19. These scholarship grants are awarded by the BCS Chamber Foundation from the proceeds of the 2011 STARA Gala event and from donations from the Leadership Brentwood Alumni Association.

Recipients for this year inlcude: Allie Arnett, a senior at Ravenwood High School, who will attend the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and major in nursing; Kendall Gilfillan, a senior at Brentwood High School, who will attend Texas Christian University and will double major in religion and history; Rob Graham, a senior at Brentwood High School, who will attend the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and study business and social entrepreneuship; and Ian Kukowski, a senior at Ravenwood High School, who will attend the University of Pennsylvania to study business.

Graduates of the Youth Leadership Brentwood program, entering four-year accredited colleges in the fall of 2011, were eligible to apply for these scholarships. Selection is based on leadership potential, academic achievement, community involvement, personal goals, references, and personal interviews.
