The two were honored April 14, along with the YMCA of Cool Springs honoree Tom Moucka, as part of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee’s Annual Celebration.
The YMCA of Middle Tennessee presents annually 26 Volunteer of the Year awards, honoring those who’ve given of their time, talent and financial resources to advance the Y’s charitable mission.
“Since joining the Brentwood YMCA board in 2008, Jayne has unselfishly and consistently given of her time, talent and treasure to enhance our Y," Brentwood Y Executive Director Steve Saxton said about Wochomurka. "From volunteering at events to chairing our Patrons’ Breakfast, Jayne has been and continues to be a tremendous source of support. Her love for and belief in the mission of the YMCA is evident in all that she does.”

YMCA Group Vice President Bob Knestrick of the Maryland Farms Y said about Bartlett: “Mary Lee understands how to spread joy, inspire others to be their best, and constantly encourage volunteers so that we can fulfill the Y mission. In just three years, she has led the way for us to increase our annual giving campaign goal from $275,000 to $406,000 so that the growing needs in our community will be met by our YMCA.”
In 2010, more than 3,900 volunteers joined hands with the Y to help people of all ages and from all walks of life work toward achieving their full potential in spirit, mind and body.
“Tom sees his life as a mission — whether it’s pastoring a church, working in the marketplace or volunteering at the Y. It is all one sheet of cloth for him. That is what makes him an effective leader," Cool Springs Y Senior Program Director Brian Harter said about Moucka. "Put him in any situation and he embraces a mission with passion and enthusiasm. His mission-driven approach is very contagious, and he’s a joy to partner with.”
