Williamson County Sheriff Jeff Long is the new president of the Tennessee Sheriffs’ Association (TSA). He was elected during the TSA’s annual convention in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
Long says he’s looking forward to working with sheriffs from across the state to promote better and more effective law enforcement.
The TSA has many purposes, including providing training for sheriffs, chiefs and jail administrators, promoting legislation that better protects the citizens of Tennessee, providing scholarships to students who are planning a career in law enforcement and much more.
Long was elected Sheriff of Williamson County in August 2008. He had served as an Assistant District Attorney for the 21st Judicial District, a special agent with the TBI, an arson investigator with the Tennessee Fire Marshall’s Office, and as former Captain with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.
Long has received many awards for his accomplishments during his 37-year career in criminal justice.
