Williamson Christian College recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Allen Reedall Learning Lab/Library.
The Learning Lab is named in memory of Allen Reedall, who passed away unexpectedly in 2009. Reedall was a close friend of Williamson Christian College President Stephen Higgins.
The lab will be a part of a renovation and expansion of the current Neth library at Williamson Christian College and includes several new computers that provide capabilities for students ranging from language development to research.
The expansion/renovation is funded by designated gifts from friends and family in memory of Reedall. Jane Reedall, Allen’s widow, was present for the Aug. 20 ribbon-cutting. State Sen. Jack Johnson and State Rep. Glenn Casada also were in attendance.
Tom Doyle of E3 Partners in Franklin was the guest speaker. He is a missionary in an anonymous country and has extensive knowledge and understanding of Christianity and the spread of the gospel throughout the world.
Founded in 1998, Williamson Christian College is a non-profit organization that serves students of all ages, especially non-traditional ones who typically are older students already in the workforce. Classes are usually held one evening a week and one class at a time.
Williamson Christian College is not related to a denomination and is guided by a 12-member board of trustees. Its enrollment of 61 in 2009 more than doubled in 2010, with a current enrollment of approximately 130 students.
The college’s campus is located at 200 Seaboard Lane in Franklin. For more information, visit www.williamsoncc.edu.
