White, a former college and professional coach, replaced Raptors coach Clay Watson for the boys spring season after Watson left his teaching position mid-year to join his family's printing business.

The Lady Raptors are coming off their best finish ever, making the state semifinals in 2010 in their second TSSAA state appearance and ending 14-5-6. RHS lost midfielder Sarah Jenner, forward Jordan Casaday and defender Sarah Allen to graduation.

Among top players back are senior goalie Rose Hull, who returned late last season from injury, and rising junior Bridget Hamway, who scored a header to hand Knoxville Bearden only its second loss in the state quarterfinals, 1-0.

White is currently the regional technical director for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for the states of Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio. He was in South Carolina at a national coaches conference Friday and unavailable for comment.

He has coached at the college level at Louisville, Bowling Green, Colorado College and his alma mater, South Florida. White also was head coach/general manager of the New Orleans Gamblers in the USL and coach/GM of the Colorado Springs Stampede.
