Updated noon Tuesday Brentwood Home Page news reports A hazardous weather outlook continues today for Middle Tennessee. The Williamson County Emergency Management Agency reports a slight risk for severe thunderstorms, mainly between noon and 7 p.m.
Numerous showers and thunderstorms will cross the area through the day. The greatest severe weather potential will occur with a line of thunderstorms that will develop ahead of a strong cold front. Damaging winds will be the main concern. Isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out. Hail and heavy downpours may also occur.
On Monday, Brentwood Fire Chief Brian Goss reported that several “slide-off” accidents had been reported in the cityMonday morning as a result of wet conditions, including one at Concord Road and Concord Pass.
The current storm system contains “plentiful moisture” with brief episodes of heavy rain. Widespread flooding is not anticipated, however. The greatest threat is strong, damaging winds.
The rain is expected to move out just in time for high pressure to build in and produce a sunny and seasonably cool Thanksgiving Day in Middle Tennessee.
The next storm system with much colder air arrives this weekend. |
