Approval of the 2012-13 Williamson County Schools calendar topped the agenda at Monday night’s Board of Education meeting (click here to see related BHP story) but that wasn’t the only item on a full agenda despite the holiday week. Among the other business items, the board decided to discuss a Ravenwood PTO request for architect renderings and model for facility improvements at the school at the December work session.

The school board honored many athletic teams and individiaul student athletes during its Student Spotlight portion of the meeting. Students recognized included several from Brentwood area schools.

Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney told the Board about incorrect information included last Wednesday in a Tennessean article about student teachers. He shared that the district currently does have student teachers and that the district will continue to do so, but they will be strategically placed so they will not be in classes where there is a State End of Course test at the high school level.

In the Board Chairman’s Report, Pat Anderson reminded the group that the Board will have a training session on Saturday, Dec. 3.

The Board approved a school calendar for the 2012-13 school year.
