Brentwood Home Page news reports Williamson County Association of Realtors is pleased to announce its recent hire of Allison King, who will join the WCAR team as Government Affairs and Communications Director.
King will lead the association’s efforts at the local, state and federal level and serve as the communications representative.
She returns to Middle Tennessee after a seven-year stint in Washington, D.C. King most recently served as associate director at Duane Morris Government Affairs where she represented a variety of clients, including real estate developers, hospitals, community colleges and non-profit associations.
“I look forward to bringing my Washington expertise back to Tennessee in order to advance the policies of the WCAR and its members,” she said. “I am excited to work with such a dynamic group of individuals in this rapidly changing industry."
Prior to her time at DMGA, King worked for the National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) as a legislative assistant in its Public Policy and Advocacy Department. King’s responsibilities at NOF included working with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the House Ways and Means Committee and the Senate Finance Committee on Medicare reimbursement issues.
King also served as a legislative aide to U.S. Congressman Martin Sabo (D-Minnesota). During her tenure with Rep. Sabo, her primary area of focus was promoting public policy issues related to health care, the arts and Labor-HHS-Education appropriations.
King graduated in 2004 with a political science degree from Vanderbilt University and is a native of New Brighton, Minn. She is married to Rocky King and has one son, Bennett.
