Brentwood Home Page news reports Brentwood Police Captain Tommy Walsh will become the city’s assistant chief of police effective Jan. 30, 2012. The promotion was announced Thursday by Jeff Hughes, who currently holds the title.
Hughes will become the city’s new police chief at the same time, following the retirement of Chief Ricky Watson. Those changes were announced in late October.
Walsh, a 23-year veteran of the Brentwood Police Department, currently serves as captain of the technical-support services division. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Austin Peay State University in 1988 and also is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command.
Walsh and his wife Gidget reside in Brentwood with their son Peyton. Their eldest son, Patrick, is a student at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
“I am confident that Tommy will make an outstanding Assistant Chief of Police,” Hughes said. |
