Brentwood Home Page staff reports
Though it's only the first full week of September, the city's high school football teams are preparing for their fourth week under the Friday Night Lights, or, in the case of the Brentwood Bruins, the Thursday Night ones.

Last Friday night Brentwood Academy (3-0) secured its place at the top of the rankings with a big win over Father Ryan. The Bruins (2-1) came home with a victory over Independence after a hard-fought loss to Smyrna the week before, while Ravenwood (1-2) struggled against District 11-3A foe Hillsboro (2-1).

On Thursday, District 11 leader BHS will host District 7 leader Oakland (3-0) for the Thursday Night Game of the Week. On Friday, Ravenwood (1-2) hosts Page while BA (3-0) welcomes Olive Branch. Click on the links for coverage of last Friday's games.
