The Saint Thomas Health Neuroscience Institute continues its free educational series, Think About It, to help the public better understand the workings of the brain, common neurological issues and the latest treatment options. Four classes remain that take place in Brentwood.
According to the National Center for Health, stroke is ranked as the third leading cause of death in United States. Alzheimer’s disease is ranked as the sixth leading cause of death in the United States and it is estimated that 5.4 million Americans are currently diagnosed with this debilitating illness. Prevention of these neurological diseases and issues includes knowledge and noticing early warning signs.
The Think About It series features five topics including sleep patterns, headaches, back pain, improving memory and signs, symptoms and the future of stroke care. Each session will be presented by Saint Thomas Health, Saint Thomas Hospital and Baptist Hospital neuroscience physicians and professionals who will be available for questions and concerns.
