Brentwood Home Page When Woodland Middle School opened in 1994 to serve the county’s burgeoning east Brentwood area, it had approximately 450 students. Today, the school’s population totals about 850 students.
Woodland offers award-winning forensics and comprehensive art, drama, and music programs. These enrichment activities are embedded into the curriculum to provide every student with a broad understanding and appreciation for the arts. WMS also offers after-school fine arts programs for students who wish to increase their involvement and expertise in these activities.
The school also fields teams in all sports.
Woodland will host a challenge day in August as well as provide a continued emphasis on Capturing Kids Hearts. During the past school year, all WMS students achieved the state’s Average Yearly Progress goals on the TCAP. Principal Priscilla Fizer was named the county’s Distinguished Middle School Administrator in 2006-2007.
The red and black Warriors receive students from Kenrose and Crockett elementary schools, and Woodland feeds into Ravenwood High School.
