The Teen Leadership class that was introduced last year to eighth-graders will continue to be offered this year.  This program fosters and enhances the leadership qualities and skills of our students.

Because of the recent construction boom in Nolensville and east Brentwood, the SSMS population continues to increase, with a current total approximately 725 evenly distributed among sixth, seventh and eighth grade. Sunset added one special education teacher and one language arts teacher to its staff for 2009-2010.

Sunset hosts a variety of community events, including art shows, plays and musicals, student council projects with Make-A-Wish Foundation, and FCA’s involvement in Soles 4 Souls. Academically, SMS students scored in the 99th percentile on TCAP in Adequate Yearly Progress.

Public elementary schools serving Brentwood include Crockett, Edmondson, Kenrose, Lipscomb, Scales and Sunset elementaries.
