The scoop on Brentwood Middle School
Email Print

Brentwood Middle School students worked hard to master new learning targets from the new state standards in each of their academic courses for the 2009-2010 school year. In related arts, students displayed their talents to the community by sharing their artistic talents with the FiftyForward Martin Center, performing choral pieces to senior citizens in the community, and by performing numbers from the musical Annie for children in the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.  These students embodied the school theme, "A Cause Greater than Ourselves."

Students excel in extracurricular activities such as drama, chorus, band, student government, Science Olympiad, math competition, Battle of the Books, Destination Imagination, Model United Nations and Youth Legislature.

Boys’ and girls’ athletic teams at BMS won 10 county championships.

Brentwood Middle School is projected to open with 1,020 students in 2010.  The feeder schools for BMS are Edmondson, Lipscomb and Scales elementary schools, while BMS feeds into Brentwood High School.

In 2006, Brentwood Middle School was named a National Blue Ribbon School.
