Sportsman's Lodge brings you the “Student of the Week” which will highlight accomplishments by the city’s outstanding high school students.  Sportsman's Lodge will provide each honored student with a $15 gift card to use at their family restaurant.

Each week, one student from each high school will be chosen by their principal to be featured for achievements including citizenship, volunteerism, leadership, academics, and much more.

Brentwood Academy - Caylyn Harvey

Caylyn is a senior at BA and was nominated because she is an outstanding student and a three-sport athlete at the school.

Caylyn is Governor in Youth Legislature, holding the highest office in the state. She is also Vice President of the Model U.N. and a National Merit Commended Scholar.

“Caylyn is an achiever in every sense of the word. She excels in so many areas and her leadership is apparent throughout the school,” said Principal Paul Compton, head of the Upper School at Brentwood Academy.

After school basketball, track and soccer keep this scholar-athlete busy beyond her daily school work. Carrying a course load that is mainly AP classes, Caylyn is a well-rounded student.

“I love BA and started here when I was in the sixth grade. The atmosphere, my teachers and my relationships here help make me successful,” Caylyn said.

Caylyn teaches fifth-grade Sunday school at Fellowship Bible Church, acting as a role model to younger children. She is also big sister to three siblings, two of whom also attend Brentwood Academy.

Applying to many colleges is the next step for Caylyn as she will continue to succeed in the future.

Brentwood High School - Will Bell

Will is a senior and is an active member of the media team at BHS. The media program is the most challenging to him, but also his favorite class.

Another of Will’s favorite things is sports. He loves College Game Day on Saturdays and looks forward to watching this fall. University of Tennessee is where Will sees his future in college. Studying to be a sports broadcaster would be a dream come true and he plans to utilize all that he has learned through the media team to be successful in this field.

When not in school Will travels around the country playing wheelchair basketball. This will be his last year to compete and he wants to make it his best year ever.

“Will never settles for less than his best. He exudes school spirit. Works hard in all of his classes and always has a positive attitude. Greeting everyone he sees, he is likeable – everybody knows him. His perseverance and positive attitude are inspiring,” said Kate Burgun, senior principal at BHS.
