Sportsman's Lodge brings you the “Student of the Week” which will highlight accomplishments by the city’s outstanding high school students.  Sportsman's Lodge will provide each honored student with a $15 gift card to use at their family restaurant.

Each week, one student from each high school will be chosen by their principal to be featured for achievements including citizenship, volunteerism, leadership, academics, and much more.

Brentwood High School - Patrick Doyle

Patrick Doyle was nominated for being a leader and outstanding member of the BHS sophomore class. He is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, Interact and Ping Pong, plus plays on the golf team.

“As a sophomore Patrick represented BHS at the state golf tournament and has excelled in his academics, taking AP and honors level courses and being in the top 10% of his class. I expect we will continue to see great things from Patrick,” said assistant principal Kate Burgun.

Patrick enjoys taking AP Euro, and Mr. Adams is one of his favorite teachers. Math and science are his favorite classes.

Already looking ahead to college, Patrick plans on studying pre-med and then medical school. He plans to apply to colleges in the Northeast.

His parents are Dr. Thomas and Margaret Doyle.

Ravenwood High School - Rebekah Elliot

School counselor Jan Niedringhaus describes Rebekah as “a self-motivated, active, well-rounded student who is very wise for her age. She participates in many school activities and clubs. Of particular note, last summer she participated in a law forum at George Mason University in Washington. Her goal is to become an attorney.”

When asked about the law forum, Rebekah said: “It was fun, hands-on. We had mock trials. I got to experience the Supreme Court and visit different law schools.”

Rebekah is applying to Sewanee and UT-Knoxville with plans to study Criminal Justice, then law. Someday Rebekah hopes to become a judge.

Librarian Kim Gaither shared “Rebekah is a studious and nice girl. She comes to the library often is a pleasant, hard working girl.”

Rebekah is a member of Student Council and Habitat for Humanity.

Her mother is Jennifer Brakefield.

Note: Brentwood Academy is not participating in Student of the Week this week.
