Sportsman's Lodge brings you the “Student of the Week” which will highlight accomplishments by the city’s outstanding high school students. Sportsman's Lodge will provide each honored student with a $15 gift card to use at their family restaurant.
Each week, one student from each high school will be chosen by their principal to be featured for achievements including citizenship, volunteerism, leadership, academics, and much more.

Brentwood Academy - Jack Wilson
Jack Wilson is a senior who has not let “senior-itis” get to him yet. With an impressive list of extracurricular activities, Jack also manages to keep a 4.2 GPA. Jack is a busy young man who manages not to lose focus.
Jack is involved with National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Brentwood Academy. He also plays soccer and wrestles for the school, and he holds a captain title in each sport. Jack has played soccer through Brentwood Soccer Club since the sixth grade.
Jack also spends time giving back to his community. He is a bible study leader as well as a volunteer with the Hoover Foundation.
“Jack excels in so many areas. His intellect, work ethic, athletic leadership, and affable personality have won him respect from teachers and students throughout the school,” said Brentwood Academy headmaster Curt Masters.
Jack will attend the University of Tennessee at Knoxville this fall where he plans to study civil engineering.

Brentwood High School - Joyce Kang
Joyce Kang is a freshman who has already greatly impressed her teachers and peers at Brentwood High School. Joyce recently placed first in the Algebra II test at the TMTA State Math Contest on April 19. She scored a perfect 200 on the test.
“Joyce is a phenomenal math student. She is a member of the Mu Alpha Theta National Math Honor Society and recently placed first in her level at the state convention in Cookeville. She also placed second in her level of ciphering, which is a timed competition. She has represented Brentwood High at several other math contests during the year and always places among the top 10,” said math teacher and department chair Betty Hood.
“We are incredibly proud of Joyce and her accomplishments this year. We congratulate her for her outstanding performance at the state competition this year,” said principal Kevin Keidel.
Along with her membership of Mu Alpha Theta, Joyce is also a member of the tennis team, Science Olympiads, and the Latin club. She is also active with Jets, a junior engineering technology society which her team placed first in the state this year. Additionally, Joyce enjoys playing the piano.

Ravenwood High School - Celina Stewart
Celina Stewart is a junior student who has set herself apart with her activity within the Ravenwood community as well as with her pleasant attitude inside the classroom. With a 4.62 GPA, Celina shows her dedication to learning.
Celina is the president of Model United Nations and Youth in Government. She is also active in National Honor Society, English National Honors Society and Science National Honors Society. Celina will hold the position of secretary for Forensics for the 2011-12school year. Celina is also extremely involved in the theater department at Ravenwood High as both an actress and a singer.
Celina's involvement and behavior in the classroom has caught the attention of other students and teachers.
“Celina is a truly remarkable student. She is as involved in school activities (theater especially) as she is bright and talented. She is one of the most gifted and promising students I have this year. It is truly a pleasure to see her smile daily,” said teacher Amber Dexter.
“Celina is a stellar student. She exceeds expectations when it comes to projects and always participates willingly in class. She is a great example and role model for other students,” said teacher Katherine Cain.
Celina has one more year at Ravenwood High, but she has already started to think about college. She says that Georgetown University is her dream college, and she hopes to study cultural history.
