Sportsman's Lodge brings you the “Student of the Week” which will highlight accomplishments by the city’s outstanding high school students.  Sportsman's Lodge will provide each honored student with a $15 gift card to use at their family restaurant.

Each week, one student from each high school will be chosen by their principal to be featured for achievements including citizenship, volunteerism, leadership, academics, and much more. 

Ravenwood High School rising senior Amanda  McCrackan  was accepted for membership in the National Society of High School Scholars this spring. She also was voted vice president of the school's National Honor Society for the 2011-2012 school year.

She is team captain of the Natchez Bend Equestrian Team, a member of the Interscholastic Equestrian Association, located at Green Pasture Farm in Brentwood.

The announcement of Amanda's NSHSS membership was made by founder and chairman Claes Nobel, a senior member of the family that established the Nobel Prizeswas recently voted

"On behalf of NSHSS,I am honored to recognize the hard work, sacrifice, and commitment that Amanda has demonstrated to achieve this level of academic excellence," Mr. Nobel said. "Amanda is now a member of a unique community of scholars -- a community that represents our very best hope for the future."
