BASEBALL
Brentwood Academy will be seeking a fourth straight Division II-AA state baseball title after sweeping Montgomery Bell Academy in the second-round series Friday.
The Eagles (20-15) will open TSSAA state tourney action in the four-team Division II-AA field against Memphis University School (25-4) at approximately 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wilson Central in Gladeville, Tenn. The site is located off I-840 between I-24 near Murfreesboro and I-40.
Winners and losers bracket games in II-AA will be played at Wilson Central, until Thursday's 12:30 p.m. championship game at MTSU's Reese Smith Jr. Field in Murfreesboro.
BASEBALL: Eagles win opportunity to win another state title

TRACK & FIELD
Brentwood High's Jake Lazas (Class AAA) and Brentwood Academy's Josh Davies (Division II) are trying to follow in the footsteps of their brothers, Kevin Lazas and Ben Davies, who won state decathlon titles. Lazas and BHS sophomore Eric Hoff are 1-2 going into the final day of the decathlon Tuesday at MTSU's Dean Smith Track and Field Stadium. Lady Bruins junior Holly Van Grinsven was third in the Class AAA girls' pentathlon on Monday.
Brentwood, Ravenwood and BA all qualified several athletes in the track and field meet Wednesday-Friday at MTSU. Bruins senior thrower Steve Wade is the defending state shot put champ and recently broke a discus record set by current pro football player Michael Oher of Blind Side fame.
BA senior Bryson Lillard will be shooting for his third straight double-championship in the 110 and 300 hurdles. BHS is the defending AAA boys state champ and won both regional team titles, while BA broke seven meet records in capturing the II-AA regionals in girls and boys.

BOYS SOCCER
Ravenwood captured its first district and region crowns this season and now will be playing in the school's first boys state soccer tourney.
The Raptors (15-2-1) play a quarterfinal at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday against Germantown Houston (16-2-3) at the Richard Siegel Soccer Complex in Murfreesboro.
The only two RHS losses occurred after senior midfielder Wil Linder, who has played in the region final and sectionals, was injured late in the regular season.
SOCCER: Raptors head to state with 4-0 win
TENNIS
Both the Ravenwood girls and the Brentwood boys earned a return trip in defense of their Class AAA crowns at the team competition Tuesday-Wednesday at Old Fort Park in Murfreesboro.
Raptors sophomore Sean Karl, now nationally ranked No. 1 in boys 16s, will defend his high school title when singles and doubles championships run Thursday-Friday.
RHS junior Lauren Caballero will defend her state doubles championship with a new partner, freshman Iris Hao. And Brentwood's Alex Howard and Drake Hernandez will compete in AAA boys doubles.
