Southern Land Company, a full-service real estate development company, has announced several additions to its Cool Springs and Dallas offices.

The company’s Tennessee developments include Westhaven, LaurelBrooke, McEwen, Carronbridge and the Enclave at Carronbridge. Southern Land (www.southernland.com) is headquartered in Franklin and employs professionals in architecture, landscape architecture, commercial, multifamily and residential development, town planning and sales.

Marci Hill, Jim Walter, Karl Fuller and Tom Skube

Property Management

Jim Walter joins Southern Land as Director of Property Management and will oversee daily operations in Southern Land’s multifamily communities in both Tennessee and Texas. Prior to joining Southern Land, he was regional property manager for Millenium Management in Cleveland, Ohio. While at Millenium, Jim oversaw a 2,500-unit multifamily portfolio.

Commercial Development

Karl Fuller joins SLC as Vice President of Commercial Construction. Prior to joining Southern Land, Karl was an independent commercial contractor with a project portfolio in the Middle Tennessee region.

Tom Skube joins Southern Land as a Project Manager with the Development Team. Prior to joining Southern Land, Tom was a superintendent/construction manager for ISSA Homes, Inc. in Celebration, Fla.

Multifamily

Marci Hill joins Southern Land as the manager at Dwell at McEwen, Southern Land’s upscale apartment community located within the McEwen development in Cool Springs. Prior to joining Southern Land, Marci was director of property management with Lable & Company in Cleveland, Ohio.

Kelly Word joins Southern Land as a leasing consultant with the Arthouse community in Keller, Texas. Prior to joining the company, Kelly worked in property management with Lincoln Property Company and Equity Residential. Kelly is a native of Fort Worth, Texas.

Caryn Collier, Melissa Hotz and Michelle Wright

Administration

Melissa Hotz joins SLC as the Executive Assistant to the President, Brian Sewell, and the Development Team. Prior to joining Southern Land, Melissa was the office manager and team leader for Cool Springs Back and Neck Care, Inc. In this role she was responsible for numerous administrative, staff, billing, and business development duties.

Caryn Collier has joined Southern Land Company as the Executive Assistant to the CEO, Tim Downey. Caryn moved to Franklin from Washington, D.C., where she was a legal executive assistant for the law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, LLP. 

Architecture

Michelle Wright has joined Southern Land Company as an intern architect with the Single-Family Architecture Division. Michelle worked with ServiceSource International prior to joining Southern Land Company. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee where she received her B.A. from the College of Architecture and Design.

Zephyr Hudgins joins Southern Land Company as an intern architect in the Mixed-Use Architecture division, operating out of the company’s Dallas, Texas office. Prior to joining Southern Land, Zephyr ran his own general contracting and presentation artist studio in Fort Worth, Texas.
