Brentwood High earned a rematch with rival Ravenwood in Wednesday’s regional softball final and also qualified for Friday’s sectionals with a shot at making the state tournament field.

The Lady Bruins, who had a long Saturday falling in two district championship games to RHS, turned in a short day at the office on Monday with an 11-0 victory over Overton in the Region 6-AAA semis.

Both Carrissa Schmittou and Whitney Christian hit home runs for BHS. Erin Dixon (3-1) picked up the victory on the mound.

The Lady Bruins hammered out 16 hits against the Bobcats and jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the first inning in the game at Whitfield Park.

Brentwood will now play at Ravenwood on Wednesday. The winner will host a sectional game Friday, and the loser will play on the road.
