Brentwood's Lady Bruins hammered out a 13-3 victory over Hillsboro in the first round of the District 11-AAA at Ravenwood and advanced into Tuesday's 5 p.m. winners bracket game against No. 2 seed Independence.

The top-seeded Lady Raptors, who made the state tournament field for the first time last season, opens play at 7 p.m. after earning a bye. RHS will get a rematch with Centennial, the only district team to beat the Raptors during regular-season play (6-0 in their second meeting a week ago).

BHS, which lost to RHS at home last Thursday 13-6, takes on No. 2 seed Independence at 4:30 p.m. today on the Raptors' field. The Lady Bruins went 6-4 in district action during the season, with all four losses to Brentwood and Independence.
