Brentwood Home Page news reports Those who enjoy musical theater won’t want to miss Brentwood High’s current production of Singin’ In the Rain on stage this weekend, directed by drama instructor Lisa Moody with musical direction by Kim Clark. With many familiar songs by Nacio Herb Brown and Arthur Freed, the stage version, like the classic film version, has a story by Betty Comden and Adolph Green.
Singin’ in the Rain follows movie stars Lena Lamont and Don Lockwood as the movie industry transitions from the silent movie era to the talkies. Favorite songs include “Make ‘Em Laugh,” “Good Mornin’”, and especially, “Singin’ in the Rain.” The audience stays dry but the stage does not.
Singin in the Rain continues Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m and Sunday, March 13, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $7 adults; $5 ages 12 and younger.
The show is presented in the school’s Campbell Center. The high school is located at 5304 Murray Lane in Brentwood. |
