Little boy's school tour turns into Disney trip
Brentwood Home Page news reports
Every year Ravenwood's senior class donates a gift to leave as a legacy to the school. Many seniors were touched and affected by the loss of two of RHS students last year to cancer, so they knew early in the year they wanted to use their money to help make a child's wish come true through the Make a Wish Foundation.
After a year of preparation, the seniors raised over $6000. Last Friday they finally met the recipient of his wish, 5-year-old Carson Daniel. Ravenwood’s 2000-member student body packed the gymnasium dressed as Disney characters and waving signs made for 5-year-old Carson, who was under the impression he was there to "tour" the school.
The family was led to the gym where they were greeted by the Ravenwood choir singing, "When You Wish Upon a Star." The song was followed by cheers for the very surprised Carson.
The art department crafted a replica of the Disney castle, where Carson and family walked through on their way to the after-party where the students behind the surprise and family could finally meet.
Carson, along with his parents Nathan and Nikki Daniel, will be headed to Disney World courtesy of the RHS Class of 2010.
