To the Editor:
As many of you are aware, our school system’s recent request for funding to upgrade and repair some of our campuses was unsuccessful. In short, the County Commission only approved one item (the Scales Elementary School renovation project) from our request. However, we will have a second opportunity to present our case in March.
Please be patient with us as we work with the County Commission to further expound on our needs and elaborate on the necessity for the proposed repairs and renovations. We aspire to find common ground with the Commission in the days and weeks to come. I truly believe everyone wants to provide students with learning experiences in a safe, comfortable and conducive environment.
The County Commission has the difficult task of meeting our needs with limited resources. It is a difficult job I am sure. However, I will remain vigilant in our quest to provide WCS students and teachers with the resources necessary for continued success.
