A wine tasting event organized especially for women who prefer fun over snooty wine conversation will be held at 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, July 22, at Durégo in Brentwood.

“Wine Tasting for Floozies,” the tongue-in-cheek title of this ladies’ night out, will feature Bluebird wines and commentary by “wine experts with a twist” the Saucy Sisters.

The Saucy Sisters, Barbara Nowak and Beverly Wichman, not only know wine, they teach bartending classes. Their 'Lift Your Spirits!' column now appears each Friday on Brentwood Home Page.

The Saucy Sisters, Barbara Wichman Nowak and Beverly Wichman Pittman, are media personalities whose column recently started appearing Fridays on the Food & Drink page at Brentwood Home Page (click here for last week's column). They’re the authors of The Saucy Sisters’ Guide to Wine: What Every Girl Should Know Before She Uncorks and The Everything Wine Book, and for 10 years hosted the radio show Sauced!    

In the spirit of “expanding your palate without busting your wallet,” the ladies of Blue Jean Wines (co-sponsor of the event) will provide three wines from Bluebird: Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.  Handcrafted hors d’oeuvres provided by Durégo will accompany the wines.

 “This is an exciting new concept for wine tasting in Nashville.  Girlfriends can just let their hair down, learn a little and laugh a lot . . . all the while enjoying some spectacular wines,” said Julie Johnson, president of Blue Jean Wines.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with Saucy Sisters commentary at 7-7:30 p.m..  The Sisters will present wine information that all floozies should know:

• How to judge a man by the wine he drinks

•  Vinous pick-up lines (if you dare)

•  How to fake it (the wine-tasting ritual, that is)

•  Wacky Wine Quiz with Prizes
