Tyler Emery and Danny McGrath each scored 10 points, leading Brentwood Academy to a 50-46 victory over East Ridge the Hendersonville Classic on Saturday.

BA trailed 13-7 after the first quarter, but outscored East Ridge in the third period 15-8.

Erick Henninger sank a couple of 3-pointers and finished with eight points, while D'Montre Wade added seven and Josh Lester six. Reid Besch also hit a 3 for the Eagles.

Brentwood Academy (3-5) has a home game after Christmas break on Jan. 3 against Glencliff, before visiting Ensworth on Jan. 6 in Division II-AA East/Middle Region action.

Blackman 50, Brentwood Academy 40, girls

Hailey Pierson led the Lady Eagles (6-5) with 10 points in a loss to once-beaten Blackman at the Mt. Juliet Classic on Saturday.

Jai Murphy scored nine, and Taylor McFarland hit a couple of 3-pointers on her way to eight points. Caylyn Harvey chipped in six points, Maren Kreid added four points, and Lizz Pease sank a trey.

Brentwood Academy took a 13-10 lead in the first quarter over Blackman, which had been undefeated before falling to powerful Mt. Juliet the day before. But the Lady Blaze outscored BA 18-3 in the second quarter.

The Lady Eagles will play in the Franklin Road Academy tournament after Christmas, then return home for a home game against Knoxville Webb at 4 p.m. Jan. 3.

Brentwood High 68, Lavergne 59, boys

Senior point guard Jack Montague broke loose for  27 points in his second game back after injuring his ankle.

Will Jones added 12 points for the Bruins (7-4), who play in the Ensworth Holiday Shootout at 5 p.m. Wednesday against McAdory, Ala.

Montague had scored 20 points on Friday night in a 42-36 loss to Blackman, while Cole Harrison added eight for BHS.
