The Nashville Symphony has announced a full month of holiday-related concerts and special events at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center that are directed to a variety of audiences.

Brahms’s First

SunTrust Classical Series, Thursday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m.; Friday, Dec. 2 and Saturday, Dec. 3, at 8 p.m.

There’ll be a blaze of sparks when the evening opens with Canadian composer John Estacio’s “Frenergy,” which combines the words “frenetic” and “energy.” Guest pianist Natasha Paremski possesses an artistic maturity well beyond her years, which she’ll apply to Dvoƙák’s colorful, melodic Piano Concerto. All culminating with the Symphony that helped establish Brahms as Beethoven’s successor.

Presented by the Nashville Symphony Orchestra League, free Classical Conversations take place in the Schermerhorn’s Balcony Lobby one hour before all SunTrust Classical Series concerts. Learn more about the music, and engage in a lively conversation with the conductors, guest artists and musicians.
