Brentwood Home Page news reports The Ravenwood girls and boys track & field teams had excellent showings at the section three championship meet last week. The following athletes placed in the top eight: Anna McGuinness (high jump and 300m hurdles), Kacey Brown (triple jump), 4x100m (Alliyah Robertson, Halie Lemasters, Maddie Lindley, Elece Gray), and Rue Reynolds (300m hurdles). The following athletes placed in the top four, qualifying for the state championships: Kennedie Leath (shot put), Erika Peoples (3200m and 1600m), 4x800m (Dabney Chitwood, Eleanor Leffler, Abby Finnegan, Allie Arnette), Maddie Lindley (300m hurdles), Allie Arnette (800m), and 4x400m (Elece Gray, Maddie Lindley, Alliyah robertson, Halie Lemasters). Erika broke her own school record in the 3200m and both the 4x800m and 4x400m teams set school records, with the 4x800m team finishing first overall. The girls team placed third out of thirty schools.
For the boys, the following athletes placed: Geoff Nelson (high jump, 400m), Adam Miller (discus), and Samuel Hagens (long jump). The following athletes placed in the top four, qualifying for state: Zach Gilroy (high jump, pole vault), Cameron Brown (shot put, discus), and Samuel Hagens (high jump - first place). The boys finished fourth out of thirty schools.
The state qualifiers will compete this week for the state championship at Middle Tennessee State University.
