Ravenwood High School assembled a science bowl team this winter that competed in its first competition on March 12. The competition was the Tennessee Science Bowl, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy. Ravenwood's team represented Brentwood well with a fourth place finish out of 48 teams.

Undefeated until semi-finals, one team from Ravenwood lost to Oak Ridge in a tough battle. The second team barely missed a spot in the Sweet 16. Team one students were Sunny Cai, Riley Hadden, Nishant Subramani, Drew Turbeville, and Zack Vacanti. Team two students were Nishant Biswas, Paul Drexler, Mitchell Gordon, James Fan, and Kevin Okseniuk. The teams were coached by Amy Maffei and Avrill Buerstetta.
