Ravenwood's softball team, making its first appearance in the state tournament, will open play against Eaststate foe Jefferson County (31-12) on Tuesday in Murfreesboro.
The Lady Raptors (33-16) start play in the TSSAA Division I-AAA tourney at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Starplex Field No. 1 at the Murfreesboro Sports Complex. All state high school baseball, tennis, soccer, softball and track championships take place at the Spring Fling in Murfreesboro this week.

If the Raptors win the opener, they will advance into the winners' bracket semifinals on Wednesday midday at Murfreesboro's McKnight Field No. 1 against the winner of Riverdale-Brighton. The game would start 30 minutes after the finish of the 10 a.m. game at McKnight.
The losers of the Ravenwood-Jefferson County and Riverdale-Brighton games fall into the losers bracket of the double-elimination tourney for the 10 a.m. Wednesday game at McKnight.
Tournament play will continue Thursday-Friday at the Starplex, with the losers bracket final at 10 a.m. Friday and the championship game at 6:30 p.m. Friday. A second championship game, if necessary, would be played Saturday at a time to be determined.
