Bruins sophomore Graves wins two individual titles
Brentwood Home Page news reports Ravenwood swam to the combined team title at the Middle Tennessee regional meet Friday, and Brentwood finished runner-up.
BHS won three races, two by sophomore Robby Graves in the boys competition and one by 10th-grader Logan Klinsky on the girls side. RHS sophomore Grant Stafford also captured a regional title.
The Raptors finished second in both the boys and girls scoring and the Bruins teams were both fourth at the Middle Tennessee High School Swimming Association meet at Centennial Sportsplex. Combined, the Raptors won with 527.5 points, with Brentwood next at 404.
Stafford’s victory anchors Raptors Brentwood’s Graves won the 200-yard freestyle race in 1:43.98. RHS junior James Moseley was sixth and senior Paul Rowland eighth.
Graves also took the 500-yard freestyle for BHS at 4:38.89, almost four seconds over runner-up Stafford of RHS. Moseley finished fifth for the Raptors, while Bruins sophomores Arthur Vidineyev and Artem Pavlichenko were sixth and eighth, respectively.

Ravenwood’s Stafford captured the 100 freestyle crown in 47.42 seconds.
The Raptors boys had 271 points to 498 for Montgomery Bell Academy, while Makos scored 229 and Brentwood 186. Brentwood Academy’s boys finished 13th.
RHS sophomore foursome Ted Curtiss, Alex Goss, Reece Boyd and Stafford swam to second place in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:39.24. Brentwood’s own 10th-graders, Zach Driver, Graves, Vidineyev and Harrison Turney, finished sixth.
RHS was also second (3:20.09) behind MBA (3:15.81) in the 400 freestyle, with Boyd, Curtiss, Goss and Stafford swimming the four legs. The Bruins were fourth, with Turney, Driver, Vidineyev and Graves.
Boyd took second in the 100-yard butterfly for RHS in 52.23 seconds, and Driver was fifth for BHS.
Ravenwood’s Goss was third in the 100 breaststroke, and teammate Curtiss was fourth in the 100 backstroke.
Goss placed third and Curtiss fifth in the 200 IM for the Raptors, while Vidineyev was sixth for the Bruins.
In the 200 free relay, RHS was fifth (sophomore Bailey Best, senior Zhaoqi Li, Moseley, Rowland). BA swam ninth (C.J. Wochomurka, Matthew Broadbent, Daniel Byers, Miller Brown).

Klinsky wins for Lady Bruins, Davis leads Lady Raptors
On the girls side, Brentwood’s Klinsky swam to victory in the 100-yard freestyle in 53.75 seconds, edging Ravenwood freshman Bailey Page by .04 of a second. RHS junior Emma Morris was eighth.
Ravenwood’s girls scored 256.5 points to Harpeth Hall’s 364, following by Franklin’s 242 and the Bruins’ 218.
The RHS runner-up 200 medley relay team of Morris, senior Kim Davis, junior Taylor Piranian and Page was just 1.14 seconds behind first-place Franklin’s 1:53.73 clocking. BHS was fifth with junior Allison Maher, freshman Becca Sinard, junior Rachel Kaegi and Klinsky.
Ravenwood’s Davis placed third in the 200 IM in 2:11.49, while Brentwood’s Maher was eighth.
Davis was also third for RHS in the 100 breaststroke at 1:07.15 and Maher sixth for BHS.
Raptors freshman Hannah Cressman finished fourth in the 100 butterfly in 1:01.18, just ahead of Bruins freshman Carissa Waller and Kaegi.

In the 100 backstroke, Ravenwood’s Morris finished fourth in 1:03.32.
The RHS 200 free relay team placed fourth in 1:48.40 (junior Tracey Kenmuir, Kent, junior Regan Page, junior Danielle Dauchot), and the BHS foursome was seventh (junior Cassidy Bogard, Sinard, junior Grace Wholley, freshman Sarah Catherine Hurlock).
The Raptors’ 400 freestyle relay (Bailey Page, Piranian, Cressman, Davis) placed fourth in 3:48.49, with the Bruins next in fifth (Kaegi, Wholley, Maher, Klinsky).
Klinsky swam fourth in the 200-yard free in 1:57.21 for the Bruins, and the Raptors’ Page was sixth.
In the 50 free, Kaegi was sixth for BHS, and RHS sophomore Michaela Kent eighth.
