Steve Cooke and Glenda Morris have joined Brentwood-based Reliant Bank Mortgage where they will serve as mortgage loan originators. 

Both were previously employed by Malcap Mortgage.

Morris she was one of Malcop's top producers. She specializes in VA and FHA loans and has added reverse mortgages to her expertise.

“We are pleased to have Glenda on board and welcome her to the team,” said Brian Shaw, executive vice president and chief retail officer of Reliant who also oversees Reliant Bank Mortgage.

Morris is a graduate of Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Ga., and also attended the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga for post-graduate studies. She continues to play an active role in the community by volunteering her time with various community agencies.

 “I am very excited to be a part of Reliant Bank and appreciate such a community-focused company,” Morris said.

Cooke was quickly promoted through the Malcap ranks and also was a standing member of the company’s President’s Club for high performance. Cooke specializes in the complexities of jumbo loans.

“My goal is to not only provide my clients the best mortgage, but also find ways to help them achieve their overall financial goals,” Cooke said. “Being a part of Reliant Bank gives me the opportunity to offer my clients more.”

Cooke is a graduate of UCLA and earned his MBA at Pepperdine University. His expertise in the mortgage industry led him to being a contributing writer for The Tennessean's Ask the Expert column for two years.

“Steve will be a great addition to the mortgage team,” Shaw said.
