2011 College Scholarship Applications Are Available from the Williamson County Association of Realtors Good Works Foundation

The Williamson County Association of Realtors Good Works Foundation invites seniors from Williamson County’s public high schools to apply for college scholarships. The Foundation was created by members of the Williamson County Association of Realtors, where historically each year the Association awards one senior from each of the public high schools within Williamson County with a scholarship to assist students with their education goals.

The awards are in the amount of $1500 per student.  In addition, the Beverly Collins Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1000 will be awarded. Scholarship awards are sent to the recipients’ selected place of higher education.

The Foundation’s Scholarship Committee, chaired by Robin Barnes of Village Real Estate, works to bring an awareness of the annual scholarship program to the community. The committee reviews the applications and determines the finalists who will then meet with members for a personal interview. Applications for this year are due March 4, 2011. Recipients are selected and announced in May.

WCAR members will host fundraisers throughout the 2011 year to bring a greater awareness to the scholarship program. One of the Foundation’s annual events is to host a golf outing in June and invite Realtors along with members of the public to play and help support the scholarship program.

The Realtors of Williamson County invite you to share this scholarship information with a senior that you are aware of and encourage them to apply. Applications are available on our website at www.williamsoncountyrealtors.org and at the WCAR office located at 840 Crescent Centre Drive, Suite 120, Franklin 37067.
