Brentwood Home Page news reports Ravenwood, which competes in the Brentwood Academy Duals on Wednesday, remained in the Tennessee high school wrestling coaches poll this week but slipped out of the Top 10.
The Raptors dropped from ninth to 11th. Five of the top six schools are from the Chattanooga area, led by No. 1 Bradley Central. But Memphis Christian Brothers moved up from No. 4 to No. 2 this week.
Admission is $5 to the BA tournament, which begins with weigh-ins at 8 a.m. and coaches’ meeting at 8:30 a.m. Teams participating along with the host Eagles and RHS are Clarksville, Cheatham County, Harpeth, Hillwood, Hume-Fogg, Hunters Lane, M.L. King, Northeast and Pope John Paul II.
Ravenwood has already won the Beech Duals, the Overton Fall Brawl, the Slamfest in Clarksville, and last weekend’s individual tournament at Calloway County, Ky.
In the statewide poll, McCallie, Soddy Daisy, Cleveland and Baylor are ranked third through sixth. No. 7 Father Ryan heads up Middle Tennessee teams in the ratings, while Ravenwood's District 11-AAA foes Franklin and Independence remain at eighth and 10th, respectively.
Science Hill is ninth and Clarksville 12th. Montgomery Bell Academy and Ooltewah also received votes.
