Brentwood Home Page news reports
The undefeated Ravenwood wrestling team won the Brentwood Academy Duals,  winning five matches Wednesday to run its record to 17-0.

Starting the match at 135, the Raptors were down to Clarksville in the final 22-3, but rallied behind a win by Grant Jones at 140. RHS then went on a streak of victories from Evan Long (189), Harrison Hawthorne (215), Dylan Yeager (285), Jacob Travis (103), Kyle Kuehnhold (112), Jacob Freeman (119) and Jack Finnegan (125) before the next loss.

Bradley Butters got the last win of the night to wrap up the championship 39-22.

The Raptors steamrolled through pool play over Cheatham County 78-0, Hunters Lane 59-12, Hume-Fogg 68-3 and Northeast 82-0. Earlier this week, Ravenwood slipped from ninth to 11th in the statewide coaches' wrestling poll.

"For some reason we have dropped out of the current overall rankings," RHS Coach Josh Peck said. "Luckily rankings do not mean anything."

The Raptors will be back in action Tuesday at the Buckhorn (Ala.) Duals. RHS and Brentwood Academy will both also participate in the Independence Duals next week.

Brentwood High School's wrestling team hits the mats again Jan. 4 for a 6 p.m. home match against Montgomery Bell Academy.

Evan Long wrestles at 189 for RHS. Long is declared winner during BA Duals.
