Brentwood, Ravenwood qualify both teams for regionals
Brentwood Home Page news reports Ravenwood sophomore Davis Baxter and senior Katie Parrott won the District 11-AAA golf tournament individual titles, while Brentwood High and RHS both qualified their teams for the regionals.
The BHS boys finished as runner-up to Franklin by just a stroke, 309 to 310, for their first team loss after going 30-0 during the regular season. The Raptors were third with 313 strokes on Monday at Ted Rhodes Golf Course in Nashville, also making next Monday's Region 6-AAA tourney at Shelby Park.
Parrott, last year’s region champ, shot a 77 to win by 13 strokes over her nearest competitor and take low medalist honors for girls. She also led the Lady Raptors to a runner-up finish, with BHS qualifying for regionals in third place.
Baxter’s round of 73 topped the 74 by Franklin’s Chris Baker. Ravenwood’s Jonathan Wise carded a 75 for a three-way tie for third and placed fifth after a playoff.
Chris Tyminski, Ryan Grundberg and Peyton McClure all shot 77s to lead the Bruins.
Catherine Doyle’s 94 for the Lady Bruins was good for fourth place overall on the girls side.
