Shuman: 'This isn't Ravenwood football' By SUSAN LEATHERS Brentwood Home Page Head Coach Tom Shuman summed it up in four words after his Ravenwood Raptors lost to District 11-AAA rival Hillsboro 15-0 Friday night.
“This isn’t Ravenwood football,” he said before dejectedly walking the length of the Burros’ field alone.

| A large crowd traveled to Hillsboro's Green Hills campus for the game, filling the visitors' stands at Hillsboro. |

| Late in the fourth quarter, RHS Head Coach Tom Shuman watches his team's action. The Raptors forced a turnover on this play. |
 |
| A very hoarse Coach Shuman had few words for his team after the Raptors' 15-0 loss to Hillsboro. |
The Raptors had difficulty executing the entire game, though it had its chances.
Ravenwood only had a total 179 offensive yards. Tanner Withrow led the offense with 62 rushing yards. Andrew Cash had four receptions for 31 yards while Preston Carter had three for 33 yards. Quarterback Keegan Layrer carried the ball 16 times but was only able to get a total of 33 yards.
For Hillsboro, Morris Williams caught a 60-yard touchdown pass from Amiri Hawkins and James Parks ran for a six-yard score to help the Burros (2-1, 1-0 11-AAA) pull away from Ravenwood (1-2, 0-1 11-AAA) in the second half.
A late drive in the fourth quarter took the Raptors to the 28-yard line with 47.2 left in the game but Ravenwood was not able to capitalize on its effort and the Burros got the ball back with 11 seconds to go.
One play later and it was over.
“We just had a complete and utter breakdown,” Shuman said after addressing his team. “We didn’t play hard; we didn’t play smart. A team with this much talent, with this much ability shouldn’t play like this.
“The buck’s gotta stop with me. I’m not exactly sure what I’m going to do about it but I’m going to do something,” the second-year head coach said.
Ravenwood (1-2) hosts Page next week.
