Gov. Bill Haslam recently issued an official proclamation designating the month of June as National Homeownership Month at the request of the Tennessee Housing Development Agency.
The time is set aside each year to raise awareness of the vital economic and social contributions homes make for families and communities.
According to the National Association of Realtors, one job is created for every two homes sold in America. Housing and a strong economic outlook are intimately tied, and a recovering market will most certainly show improved housing numbers.
Due to scheduling conflicts, the photo session for the proclamation was held on June 29 in the governor's office.
