Morning with Santa fills library Saturday
Updated 10:30 a.m. By WENDY HOSSE For Brentwood Home Page
The Brentwood Library’s annual Morning with Santa was the most festive yet. Children were welcomed with balloons, treats, a magic show, various Christmas activities, and, of course, Santa and his elves.
Magician Scott Humston performed three shows Saturday morning and he still has 8-year-old Kyle Thoney of Brentwood guesssing. “I’ve seen this show for three years and it I still can’t figure out how he does those tricks. And I’ve read some magic books!” Kyle said.
Between visiting with Santa and watching the magic show, families spent the morning at the elf stations writing letters to Santa, face painting, story reading, and enjoying refreshments.
Tonight, children will again fill the library as two readings of The Polar Express are sold out. The city's annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held on the library grounds at 5:30 p.m. Events will go on as scheduled regardless of the weather.
If it is raining, the tree lighting festivities will be moved into the library meeting room and the tree will be lit remotely from the alcove outside the meeting rooms.
The library is located at 8109 Concord Road. Readings of The Polar Express are at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
