Updated 10:50 a.m. Tuesday Brentwood Home Page news reports Brentwood Academy’s returning 215-pound state champion Amos Mason won his weight class in the Middle Tennessee Grand Championships tournament at the Williamson County Ag Expo Center over the weekend.

Brentwood High’s Gabe Hamilton (145) and Nicholas Coffey (195) made the finals and each placed second. Coffey's finals loss to Father Ryan's Ricky Fisher was selected the tournament's best match.
Ravenwood's Jacob Freeman (138) also was runner-up, and teammate Camden Grecco (182) took third.
BA's Danny Maloney finished third, and the Eagles placed fifth out of 41 high schools competing.
Cliff Terrell (182) was fourth for BHS, while Luke Hamilton (132) and Demetrics Brown (220) tied for fifth.
The Bruins were seventh overall and the Raptors finished ninth.
About 1,500 wrestlers participated in the event, from the youngest Midget age group through middle school, high school and even college. Wrestling clinics were also conducted, and a $10,000 tapeless mat went to Cane Ridge High School in a drawing.
