A woman struck by a vehicle on Wilson Pike just south of Brentwood Wednesday night is now listed in stable condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Sgt. Charles Warner of the Franklin Police Department reports that a 21-year-old female driver from Nolensville was traveling north on Wilson Pike just north of McEwen Road when she struck a pedestrian who reportedly jumped into her path.

The female victim, 26, was walking along the shoulder when she reported hearing something in the tree line and jumped into the roadway after being startled by the noise. She was transported by air to VUMC in critical condition.

A determination on whether charges will be filed has not yet been made, according to Warner.
