Adminstrative hearing held in Bullock case
Brentwood Home Page staff reports

A pre-parole hearing for Garrett Bullock took place at the Williamson County Jail this morning. It ended with the administrator stating she would recommend to the state parole board that Bullock continue to serve his full three-year sentence after he pled guilty to two counts of vehicular assault, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon in a Brentwood traffic collision that left a Brentwood mother paralyzed.

PROFILE IN COURAGE: Elaine Scholes shares her story

“The hearing on the parole request was held in front of a hearing officer who actually only makes a recommendation to the Board of Pardon and Parole which is the entity which will make the final decision and will actually issue the order denying the parole request,” explained Don Scholes, whose wife Elaine was the victim in the case. “The hearing officer stated that she expected a written order would be issued with three or four weeks.  I anticipate that this Board will adopt her recommendation,” he added.

Several individuals spoke on Bullock’s behalf, including his sister, his girlfriend and a potential future employer, according to  Officer John Maxwell of the Brentwood Police Department. Maxwell attended as the investigating officer of the Sept. 13, 2010 accident.

Speaking in support of the denial of the parole request were both of the Scholes as well as assistant district attorney Kelly Lawrence.

“The hearing officer stated that she was recommending parole be denied because of the severity of Elaine’s injuries as a result the actions of Mr. Bullock for which he was convicted,” Don Scholes shared.

The inexecusible and dispicable act by this multiple DUI offender and the horrific permanent damage he caused to an innocent lady will never be forgotten or forgiven.

He can't feel much remorse or responsiblity, since he is already trying to get out of jail and cut short his punishment (which was WAY to short to begin with).

One day he will be out of jail, tragically. Research tells us he will drink and drive again. Whose family member will have to die to put this slug away for 20+ years? That will be the worst tragedy of all.

Considering he had a 2nd DUI while on parole, I'm sure he's counting the days until he's free to drink at his favorite Cool Springs Brewery and dazzle the bartender with BS.
