The local family singing group Parker Blue will headline this year’s “Evening of Humor and Song,” the annual fundraiser for the Brentwood Morning Rotary Club. The May 11 concert will again take place in Campbell Center at Brentwood High School.
Parker Blue is made up of dad Blake Parker and his sons John Blake (age 17), Grant (15) and Hudson (13). Their voices have been heard on albums by Kenny Rogers and Pam Tillis and on stage with Keith Urban. As Parker Blue, the family has found the joy of performing together and tapped into the “blood harmony” with a folk/country emphasis.
Kicking off the evening will be comedian Rik Roberts who was a big hit at last year’s fundraising event, which was headlined by Henry Cho. Roberts is a nationally known comedian who has headlined at such famous comedy clubs as The Improv, The Punchline, Funny Bone, The Stardome, and Zanies.
The annual fundraiser is the club’s primary fundraiser and supports its many charitable projects, which include elementary school reading programs, the TN Baptist Children’s Home, scholarships for local high school students, grants to local schools, international water projects, and disaster response.
The family friendly show starts at 7:30 p.m. Reserved seats are $25, general admission tickets are $20, and student tickets (high school and younger) are $10. Tickets are available by calling 232-0901 ext. 5. Tickets will also be available at the door on the night of the show.
The Ravenwood High School Interact Club will provide on-site child care services for younger children.
