There’s an unmistakable sense of tranquility once you enter the gates of Hampton Reserve, an upscale community in east Brentwood. With wooded home sites and lush landscaping, this distinctive neighborhood offers a peaceful, parklike setting.

“The location is hard to beat – especially now that Concord Road has been expanded,” says Dick Williams, a Realtor with Crye Leike. “And there is great back-road access to Cool Springs and other destinations. It’s a very attractive area – the entrance is well-maintained and it’s a gated community, which provides added security and privacy.”

Built from 2002, Hampton Reserve includes about 80 custom-built homes, featuring a solid mix of architectural influences. Currently nine listings are available on realtracs.com, ranging in price from $839,000-$1,339,900.

“We liked the location, privacy and limited traffic of a gated community,” says Jeff Duncan, president of the homeowner’s association and a resident since 2004. “The community was well appointed, and not being golfers, it seemed to be a better value than similar homes in the ‘club’ next door,” he adds, referring to the nearby Governor’s Club subdivision.

“It’s a little bit of a throwback because people really do know their neighbors. Residents like to get out and enjoy the trails and walk the neighborhood.”

The community maintains a private web site to keep residents up to date on local news and social events, including everything from a fall hayride and Halloween party to a summer picnic and Christmas cookie bake.

Perhaps the biggest news, however, is an extensive amenities proposal currently under consideration by the HOA.

“We’re hoping to add a pool, an amenities/gathering building, covered patio, outdoor fire pit, grills, lawn games and other features,” Duncan says. “Everything is in the proposal stage at this point. But based on a survey of the owners in the neighborhood, a great majority are in favor of these additions. We will be voting on moving forward with the construction at our annual meeting on September 14. We hope to be in the pool next summer.”

Debbie Turner, president and general manager of the NewsChannel 5 Network, has been a resident of Hampton Reserve for four-and-a-half years.

“I think the amenities committee has done a great job and is looking at doing some really cool things with this proposed project,” she says. “It’s just a beautiful area. I love walking in the mornings, and believe me, you can get quite a workout on these hills.

“It’s just the right size – small enough to know your neighbors, but large enough to enjoy plenty of space,” she adds. “And it’s very diverse, which I love. Old, young, working, retired – just a lot of nice people.”
