Brentwood Home Page school reports
This is the final "Notes from Brentwood's Blackboards" for the school year. Have a great summer vacation everyone!
Crockett: This is the last day of the school year so dismissal is at noon. Please ensure that your student is aware of how he/she will get home today. Mark your calendars for June 8 at the County Commissioners' Auditorium 5:30-6:30 p.m. for the open forum. Aug. 10 is Crockett’s Welcome Back Night. Best wishes for a healthy, happy summer from your media representative Trish Walker and the Crockett faculty and staff.
Edmondson: We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for making this school year a success. We have such a wonderful school community, and we greatly appreciate all you do to help make Edmondson such a great place. We hope everyone has a safe and relaxing summer.
Kenrose: Kindergarten students participated in some scientific research. They chose an animal, found pictures or items that represent that animal and presented a small report about that animal to their classmates. This was a great learning experience for all.
Lipscomb: Gold Medal students are Anna Abarientos, Easton Freeze, Claudia Murillo, Andrew Neumann, Isaac Snyder, Carson Tapp and Mary Travioli.
Scales: This is our last day for the year. Report cards will be sent home and dismissal will be at 12:05 p.m. In the computer lab with Vicki Wilson, the fourth- and fifth-grade students have learned to program with Scratch. They have created animations and even some games.
Sunset: "Daddiopalooza" 2010 began with a week filled with enjoyable games that had everything to do with the top dog, man of the hour, everybody’s main man – Dad. Students participated in Dad word searches, "guess the dad" games, poetry contests, a Dress Your Dad contest and of course, Friday’s favorite feast fest of fathers, Donuts for Dads. The week also saw students donating one piece of clothing from their Dad to a charity. The week's highlight, Donuts for Dads, brought a packed house of many handsome Dads decorated with handcrafted ties and boutonnieres provided by their own son or daughters. Secret judges roaming the event selected two winners for the best "accessorized" dad.
Sunset Middle: Eighth Grade Celebration will be held this morning at 8: a.m., followed by a reception. Camp for boys entering the eighth grade: You are invited to be a part of WCS Guys CAN Camp. During this one-day camp, you will be introduced to non-traditional careers for males, complete a variety of projects within selected career and technical curriculum, and hear from dynamic men in non-traditional careers. The camp is 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, at Centennial High School. For an application, come to the Sunset front office. If you have questions, contact Rebecca Collins at 472-4063 or rebeccac@wcs.edu. Today is an early dismissal day: Have a great summer!
Woodland Middle: Any student who has any kind of medication at school, please remember to stop by the clinic and pick it up before the last day of school. Medication cannot be kept for next school year and a new medication form has to be filled out every year. Best wishes and happy retirement to sixth-grade teacher Mary Jo Pantall. Mrs. Pantall was a teacher at LES and BMS prior to coming to WMS, and has made many valuable contributions as a teacher, sponsor, coach and team leader for the past 16 years. Woodland will miss you! Remember to visit the library during the summer on the following dates: 9 a.m.-2 p.m. June 8 and 15 and July 6 and 13.
