Sunset: Creative activities that are meaningful and relevant to a student’s daily life experience provide opportunities to teach across the curriculum and assist children in seeing the interrelationships among things they are learning.  In Ms. Carolyn Hagan’s room, students are creating these experiences using a variety of materials in an environment that allows each student an opportunity to freely express themselves. Grade level projects currently underway are: fifth grade is crafting faux stain glass, fourth grade,is designing movie posters and learning about advertisements, third graders are creating landscapes, second grade is designing dragons to support their unit on fairytales, first grade is focusing on coil and pinch pot techniques using clay and kindergarten is using various shapes to design fish.

They currently are completing a poetry unit of study and beginning work on their research papers for this semester.  Girls and Boys Varsity and JV basketball teams play Freedom at Sunset today, beginning at 4:00 pm.

Woodland Middle: The JV Warrior Boys overcame a 10-0 deficit with superb defensive intensity to win the game against Freedom 49-39.  The defensive leader Booth Blakely had 5 steals, Bryce Denton had 10 rebounds and 9 points, and Alex Campbell had 11 points.  Daniel Booker and Nick Gleason displayed their clutch free throw shooting in the 4th quarter going 8 for 9 and 4 for 4 respectively.  Great job guys!
