Senior Roman Mitchell had a dream night for a senior.  He scored three touchdowns in a playoff game and just plain ran over the Rossview defense.  Senior Brian Davis completed all five points after touchdown, but his kickoffs were the story.  Six kickoff touchbacks added to his year total of 40 of 56 touchbacks.
“It’s great to see a senior have a night like that,” said head coach Ron Crawford about Roman.  “He has such great experience and it’s good to see him use it.”
Senior kicker Brian Davis completed all five points after touchdown, but his kickoffs were the story.  Six kickoff touchbacks added to his year total of 40 of 56 touchbacks.
Mitchell started off the scoring with 4:23 left in the first quarter with a touchdown run up the middle.  Four minutes later, Mitchell repeated the run up the middle for his second touchdown.
Jordan Evans who had several magnificent catches Friday night, scored the Bruins third touchdown with a 35-yard pass from quarterback Clay Webber.  Mitchell then scored the Bruins fourth touchdown up the middle to take them in to halftime.
In the third quarter with 7:31 left, Clay Webber passes Evans for a 60-yard touchdown run.  Rossview scored with only :47 left in the game with a pass from Padgett to Collier.
At halftime, the Rossview marching band performed.  Then country band, Little Texas, performed for the Bruins’ crowd.  Little Texas band member, Dwayne O’Brien, read in Brentwood Home Page that the BHS band was going to miss Friday’s game due to an out-of-town competition.
O’Brien called BHS principal Kevin Keidel and got the wheels in motion to be the Bruins’ pep band for the night.  The band’s selection included played everything from the BHS fight song to some old Doobie Brothers tunes.  But at halftime, they performed two of their own songs including “God Bless Texas” which in turn substituted Brentwood for Texas.  The crowd really enjoyed that particular song and were singing along from the stadium.

“My eyes just popped out when I read that there would be no band,” said O’Brien.  “So I called up to see if we could fix this.”

Next week, the BHS band will return and although Little Texas made it a perfect evening, Bruin fans will be glad to have them back.
