SCENE & HEARD: Music City Gator Club

UF fans gather for 'fluff' game
Saturday, Sept. 5 was the season opener in
Gainesville, Fla. for the University of Florida Fighting Gators. Anticipation has been building over the No. 1 ranking and a young man who many call Superman, Tim Tebow. For those alumni who live in the Brentwood area, Cross Corner Bar & Grill has become an alternative to those who simply cannot make it down to their beloved “Swamp” to watch the game at Ben Hill Griffith Stadium.
The Music City Gator Club started coming to Cross Corner five years ago. In that time, the club has grown to the point that it is standing-room only at the Brentwood Place sports bar. Gator fans young and old come together to watch games, meet other Gator fans and show off their team spirit.

Bree Terry, a
Tampa native and huge Gator fan now works at Cross Corner. When asked about the club she smiled from ear to ear saying, “This group is the best! They are loyal fans who come in to watch the game, they order food and are good to me as their server. Gator Games are fun to work.”
Saturday's game against Charleston Southern was a “fluff” game, but to loyal fans who have waited a year since the National Championship to see their team play again, it was a great night in Brentwood.
