College Hunks choose one 'Pitch' agency, and the other


If you caught the episode of AMC’s ‘The Pitch’ Thursday night, you may think that Atlanta-based advertising agency breensmith walked away with the prized contract – College Hunks Hauling Junk which has a Brentwood connection.  (Click here for our earlier story).

As it turns out, both advertising companies featured on the program now have the franchised moving and junk removal company as a client.

Co-owner of the Brentwood location Patrick Lombardi said that the company chose breensmith’s pitch because Nashville-based Fletcher Rowley suggested a name change.

“Our name is our strong suit,” Lombardi said. “For the pitch and the actual campaign, they chose [breensmith].

But Fletcher Rowley didn’t stop there, Lombardi said. The firm reached out to the College Hunks after the show was filmed and resumed a working relationship.

“They do focus grouping and analysis, helping us reach our target audience, which is females,” Lombardi said. “They didn’t go with their idea on the show, but they do like them as a company.”
The winning national campaign, created by breensmith, is in its preliminary stages and is moving forward.

“I really liked the episode,” Lombardi said. “I thought it showed the franchise in a great light.”

Fletcher Rowley represented the business end of marketing and breensmith was more creative, Lombardi said.
